W misses Sephora.

0comments

It’s been pretty much a whole year since I last shopped at Sephora.  Well.. I’ll be honest, I did cave sometime in July and bought a couple of KVD lip liners (in my defence, one was for my sister in law as a little present after she’d given birth) and Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
Apart from that, the last time I REALLY shopped for make up was in December of last year. I’ve been good.. for the most part.

So anyway!
Yesterday I went to Sephora with a mission!
One was to claim my birthday present.
The other was to spend my accumulated points!

They have Kat Von D’s Beauty Addiction Set for 500 points in their Rewards Boutique and I figured that THIS is what I should use my points for.
The set comes in a small faux leather pouch with red lining. Inside are two eyeliners; her Ink Liner in Trooper and Tattoo Liner in Mad Max Brown.
There are also two of her lip products; her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Vampira and Studded Kiss Lipstick in Cathedral. All in mini size — perfect for on the go!

I’ve always liked her liners and liquid lipstick (and I have yet to own Vampira, yay!) but I’ve never tried her lipstick, so I’m excited! I don’t have any good reason to put on make up at the moment though so I’ll be trying these out as soon as I find an excuse.

By the way, to redeem the points you will have to make a purchase of any amount and that’s where the Soap & Glory hand sanitiser comes in (RM16).
I could’ve just bought one of Sephora’s sheet mask for RM10 but having a small child, I have more use for a hand sanitiser than a sheet mask!

This year’s birthday present from Sephora is by Tarte. They are minis of their Amazonian blush in Paaarty and Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit, both are exclusive shades for this Sephora gift set.

Can’t help but wonder if I’ll be getting a present from Sephora next year since I’d been spending so little this year! hahahha! I am most likely to be downgraded to their White Card.
Oh well.. priorities change. I now have a membership with Mothercare.. who would've thought?

The “bonus” item that I got yesterday came from a friend, who got me the Lid Lingerie eyeshadow palette by NYX for my birthday! The palette has six matte neutral shades. I’ve never tried any eyeshadow from the brand but this particular palette has great reviews, I’m looking forward to try this one out!

Basically I’m just excited over my haul!
So excited that I decided to take a pause from writing about being a mother. HAHAHAHA!
You know how it goes.. when an entry gets too long, I tend to skip over them. That continuation after I delivered Nugget is coming, I promise!

Update -- December 22nd 2017
Put on some make up before I head into the office yesterday; LOVED the Tarte blush (of course) and lip paint (my kind of nude!). Also loved the brown Tattoo Liner, no surprise there and the third shade on the top row of the eyeshadow palette blended real well on my crease.

I'm not a Hoarder.

..or at least I try to not be one!

Here's a sad story.. my sisters and I see our mom as one. She really likes to keep things in case one day she'll needs it. That includes the free t-shirts she got from her company back in 2007. My parents live in a two-bedroom flat. I've stayed there for the most of my life, but I never had friends come over or visit me during celebrations because there really isn't much space with my mom's things lying around.

I mean, we joke about it a lot.. it's not like it tainted my childhood or anything. But some days I do wonder why she's holding on so hard to her things. I would've understood it better had she actually bought all of those things. I find it hard to let go of the things that I had bought with my own money.. or things that has some sentimental value in it.
My mom hold on to things for the sake of holding on to them, it seems.

Aaanyway, why am I telling you this?
Because as I've mentioned in my quick entry some time last month, I had spent one morning sorting through my make up collection and posted it on my Instagram Stories. Managed to trash a hefty amount. I was glad and proud albeit a little sad to be parting ways with a bunch of my favourite things..
So my mom saw that story and texted me; "don't throw out those makeup, keep it in one place and I'll play around with it when I'm there.."
*smacks forehead*
I threw them all out anyway. Despite my mom trying to convince me that the powders stuff should still be good -- as if I'm letting her keep my four-year old blushes! She would never throw them out and just add them to the mound of makeup that she already own.

That was a lot of makeup. It was brutal but it had to be done. I had to.

The first ones to go were the palettes. I realise that they don't look too battered and manky to get thrown out but the most recent I have here is the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and I got that in 2013! ..and that palette was meant to be used within a year.
It was hard letting go of the two limited edition Nars palette. Remembering vividly that I ordered the Guy Bourdin One Night Stand palette off of the Sephora US site, and the Voulez-vous Coucher Avec Moi, Ce Soir? palette on a rainy day in Taipei. All before any news of Nars ever coming into Malaysia..
Then there were the three Sleek Makeup i-Divine palettes in Oh So Special, Vintage Romance and Ultra Matts V2. I truly loved them. They were really pigmented and still blendable. They were affordable too, and I wouldn't mind getting them again if I'm not so smitten by other brands at the time being.

On to the face stuff. I threw out the Farmasi highlighter that I rarely ever use as it was really chunky. Bourjois Healthy Balance powder that I bought in Hong Kong's Watsons yeaarsss before they came into Malaysia, and Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Mirage that came in some sort of a set. If you look closely, the blush actually had some sort of life form on it.. yikes!

I also threw out my tube of Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Groenland. It had a little left in the tube but it exploded in my make-up bag a while back and never been the same since. I also threw out a deluxe sample of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer that I tried to love but after years of holding on to it, it just never sit quite right on my skin. Another item that I don't think I've used ten times since I got it probably two years ago was the Bobbi Brown Corrector in of the Peach shades. Despite being matched in the store, that thing was just TOO orange on my skin and creased SO BAD under my eyes! It just refused to work for me, and I refused to hold on to it any longer.

As for the eyes, I threw out three mascaras; Benefit Roller Lash, which I loved and has dried up, Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes, which did nothing for my lashes at all! Would NOT repurchase. And Urban Decay Perversion which performed pretty well on my lashes.

Then there were three brow products; Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium, which I didn't love, smelled like old make up ever since I first got it, and was just not worth the money in my opinion. Then there was the Mary Kay clear brow gel that my mom gave me which was like glue.. literally. (Not what I prefer for my brows..) Lastly was an old favourite, In-2-It waterproof brow pencil that I'd recently took out from my "backup stash" and gave me a nice pimple on my left brow when I used it. Clearly I've kept it for far too long. hahahha!

Then I have some primers (that I rarely ever use) that I finally got rid of. I really can't review on any of them since I really didn't notice if they did anything for me on the rare occasions that I used them. Except for the eye primers. Both the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original and Nars Pro-Prime Eyeshadow Base helped my eyeshadows to stay looking good on my eyelids for longer, but personally between the two I'd prefer Nars because it felt so light whereas I could feel the one by UD on my lids.

Two random things I threw out; Duo eyelash glue that I probably use less than five times (hahaha!) and a random tester of Hydraluron serum(?) which I liked but never gotten the full size because it's damn expensive!! This had a teeny tiny bit left but not enough for me to use on my full face and I don't know why I kept it for so long.
The eyelash glue worked well, by the way. Didn't feel funny on my eyes or anything. I'm just not a fake eyelash wearer and the cap was glued shut so I just didn't bother to salvage the rest of the tube's content. (If it hadn't actually dried up.)

Finally we have lippies and liners which was the hardest to let go. Notice that I didn't part ways with ANY of my Nars lipstick? I just refuse to throw them out until they start giving me a bad reaction! hahahha!

EOS lip balm that I bought when it was all the rave on YouTube some years ago. Kept it for far too long. It wasn't even that good. Didn't really help with my constantly dry lips.
Then there's Origins and MAC lipgloss that I didn't care for. Just not into glosses. And these two were really thick and kinda made my lips stuck together. I loved Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks but I've had them for far too long, I believe. Used to REALLY love Clinique Chubby Stick Intense but I've accepted the fact that they weren't very moisturising for my lips, for what it's supposed to do. Loved the colours though. The final lip balm was the Tarte Energy Noir that transforms from clear to a berry shade. Didn't love it as much as the original Energy lip balm somehow. Same as the rest of the lip products, I threw it out because I've had it for way too long.

Finally we're at the lip liners and eye liners. Loved the lip liners by Sleek Makeup and NYX. They were both smooth and didn't tug on the lips. Then we have the eyeliners by Nars, NYX and Urban Decay which were all good. Although I probably prefer the ones by UD best. Depends on the kind of day I'm having, I think. The ones by UD were softer and easier to put on, but they didn't stay as well as the ones by Nars, but those are a little harder and tugs the eye a little sometimes. The one by NYX was soft too but as you can see, I had it in a shade of green so I never really use it and I honestly cannot remember the last time I actually did.

So that's it!
You've survived an entire post of me rambling about the makeup I've put in the trash last month. Thanks for staying put. Hope you've somehow enjoyed this entry.
I probably won't have anything fun to write apart from my pregnancy now that I'm so close to the end of it. I'll try to write as much of it (or anything) as I can.

'Til next time!

I Covet Thee..

0comments
You know what.. the thing is, I feel like I haven't been splurging for myself for SO long that now whenever I see something remotely nice, I'd make a mental note of it and they're suddenly on my wishlist.
I just threw out a bunch of makeup (yes, I know I said I was going to blog about that whole ordeal, believe me it's coming, but it's turning out to be so looong that I got bored mid way so I had to put that aside for a bit) but here I am.. wanting.. coveting some more makeup.

Let's start off with some new things by NARS, because who will I be if I don't start out with them? heh.

Here we have the new Powermatte Lip Pigment which is a matte liquid lipstick by Nars. I mean, most of you probably know my obsession with Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick by now, so when I got word that Nars had came out with a liquid lipstick, you know.. I am just going to have to try it!

By the way, Sephora Malaysia finally has the new shades of the KVD liquid lipsticks and lip pencils! I'm torn.. I'm torn..
Nars also released a special Velvet Matte Lip Pencil set for Nordstrom. There are two sets of four limited edition shades; Mustang comes with four red, bold shades while Tribulation has four nude, neutral shades. Now, do I need four almost similar shades of matte lipsticks? Of course not, but that doesn't stop me from WANTING them, does it? hahahha!

Then I don't know how, or why Hourglass always ends up in my wishlist, but I saw the Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity refillable lipstick and I just want it. Obviously it's the packaging, but damn! hahahha! Perhaps I'm attracted to them because they seem as dangerous as Christian Louboutin's lipsticks but I know I can never justify buying those!
Hourglass on the other hand, seem achievable. We'll see how it goes. I still have my thoughts on the GIRL Lip Stylos.

The fact that I threw out a couple of palettes while I was spring cleaning (you'll know once I finish the post I promised..) means that I now have room for some new palettes! (yayy!)
I was sort of on a palette no-buy and I've been pretty good so far. I mean, last year I only bought that NARS Jetsetter face palette if I remember correctly.
Since I've been keen on warm tones, it's only natural that I'd be drawn to the new Urban Decay Naked Heat palette! But my eyes aren't only drawn to that palette..
I am also eyeing the new Marc Jacobs Eye-conic Multi-finish eyeshadow palette in Scandalust.
I think they're both equally gorgeous and if the new Marc Jacobs palettes are anything like the ones they've had before, I reckon they're going to feel really awesome. There will be a price difference, I'm sure but I'm pretty keen on trying out something new!

No idea if I'll ever get to put away my wishlists. The things that are on my previous wishlist are still very much on the list! In a way I am proud for not going out immediately and get anything and everything that I want. It's almost like I can now prioritise! HAHAHAHA!

Oh well, I do see myself splurging some bits when I'm finally going back to work. It's kind of a psychological thing. Like those times in school days, you'll be excited about going back to school after the long holidays when you know you've got a spanking new pair of white shoes and new coloured pens and stationeries, right?
I will be needing that kind of incentive after this long of a break from work..

To splurge.. or not?

I am the type of person who likes having back-ups. More so of my favourite things.
When it comes to beauty, I find that there are only a few things that I refuse to skip out on.

Since I haven't had to put on a full face of make-up for a while now, it just got even more obvious when it comes to what I NEED and what I don't really care for.
It may not come as a surprise, but what I need are eyebrows! I don't step out of the house without them. I can ignore my dark circles.. and my pale lips..  but I simply cannot ignore my barely-there eyebrows.

So here's a little story. I haven't been with my favourite Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz for monthhsss now. I've tried Benefit's Precisely, My Brow and was not entirely impressed. Loved the colour of Shade 3 but I feel like it ran out too fast. I found an unused In2It brow pencil that I used to LOVE so much (a back-up that I never got around to use, go figure!) but I think it had went bad because a spot popped up in my brows the very next day! hahahha

I've also tried the brow pencil by Anastasia but I feel like it is waay too pigmented for my liking and I  really do prefer a thin nib for my brows.
Recently I've used up the brow pencil by It Cosmetics and similarly to Anastasia's brow pencil, it's very pigmented and most of the time I'd end up with harsh brows -- for something out of a pencil. Also, the spoolie at the end was not that great.

Currently I am using my Tarte Amazonian Clay brow mousse -- that is about three years old and incredibly dried up. hahahha! I am feeling super stingy at the moment, can you see?
I do worry that it's going to give me a pimple to my already sensitive skin since I've been pregnant so I have been contemplating to just go ahead and repurchase a Brow Wiz. Oh, how I miss it.

Then as I was going through my make-up collection, somehow I found an Urban Decay Brow Beater still new in box! When the hell did I bought that, I had no idea! hahahha! Made me feel a little better for not having to fork out RM100 on a brow pencil -- also thankful for my silly habit for keeping back-ups of things. hehe.
Now the question remains.. will this back-up give me a pimple? hahahha!! Guess we'll find out in a couple of days. Suppose if it does I'll just bit the bullet and purchase a Brow Wiz. Hopefully I won't have to, though. I have other things on an actual list that I need to get.

God knows how glad I am to have a brow pencil at hand, though! The brow mousse was fine, but if ever I'm travelling (like I was in Kuantan -- when I found out that the It Cosmetics pencil had come to its end!) I much prefer a thin-nib pencil that has a spoolie on its other end.

I am currently staring at my makeup collection.. thinking that I should really have a clear out very soon. (Apart from finally washing ALL of my brushes!) I reckon I haven't used most of them for over six months. I know I need to throw out a couple of mascaras. Probably get rid some of my lippies too. Wish I knew how I could clean NARS' packaging! Mine are all sticky and dusty.. ick!

The other day I found out that my skin shade has changed. I was putting on concealer and two that I have was waayy too yellow on me!
I probably need to buy a whole set of my base makeup when I go back to work in a few months.
Kinda excited.. kinda sad..
Mostly sad that I have to say goodbye to some makeup in the next few days.

I mean.. I really shouldn't still be holding on to the Nars palette that I got in 2013.. right?

2017 Wishlist.

0comments
As you may have known, the last time I bought something without much care was in December.
Being a stay-at-home wife in my current state, doesn't seem right to go around to shop my heart's desire. Of course, I don't really need any new handbags or make-up (especially when I don't really reach for them these days) but the keyword here is HEART'S DESIRE.
hahahaha!

Despite my changing hormones and the emotional roller coaster that I've been on, I am still pretty rational. I can still think logically. I know I don't need these things but I would still love to own them. So don't mind me while I list down the things I'm coveting.

NARS came out with ten new shades of their beloved Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. Three really caught my eye; an oxblood burgundy shade called Endangered Red, Mysterious Red that's described as crimson red and there's another shade that intrigued me called Do Me Baby which is described as a chestnut rose shade.
God knows how many of these I already own, and STILL I want MORE. gahhhh!!

I am also extremely curious of their new Soft Matte Complete Concealer. I've always been in between the shade Custard and Ginger but I think sometime last year they came out with some new shades and Macadamia seemed like a shade smacked in between my two typical shades.
Would love nothing more than to try it out, but I hate going into the store and not get anything! hahahha! Especially two of the associates in Midvalley and Pavilion are familiar with me.

Another lip product; Hourglass GIRL Lip Stylo in Liberator which is a deep berry shade. Honestly there are plenty of shades that I would love to get but Hourglass is such an expensive brand! And somehow I feel like getting several Nars lip pencils are justifiable than getting several Hourglass lipsticks. heh. Not that I'll be getting any of them anytime soon.
I've swatched them in Sephora and they felt SO creamy and lovely and aahhh! Maybe next year. hahahha!

I haven't bought an eye palette in yonks! Oh, perhaps last year when I got the Nars Jetsetter palette. I was keen on the Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in Ablaze when I first saw it coming out. It consists of eight beautiful warm shades, and I don't know.. that warm red and terracotta shade really calls out to me.
Good thing that somehow I'd never seen this particular palette stocked in Sephora here. Makes it easier to not crave for it too much. (I still keep a look out for it though.. can't help myself.)

When cushion foundations first came out, I was never really into them. Didn't even cross my mind to swatch any of them. But since I've been using less make-up lately, they seemed like a good option? hahahha!
I mean, pregnancy has been making my skin spotty. Some days I'd like to have them disguised, but most days I couldn't be bothered with spending the time putting it on during the day and washing it off later at night.. but the idea of having a little coverage that I could put on quickly really intrigued me.
So here comes in Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation.

I'd never pictured myself as a handbag collector, but when I first saw Rebecca Minkoff Darren Messenger Satchel in Bangkok some months ago, my heart just fluttered. Stupid, really. I've always loved Rebecca Minkoff's shoulder bags.. I shouldn't have subscribed to the newsletter now that I'm pretty much on a no-buy ban! So now I'm left coveting..
It's especially hard since there's also a red Mini MAC and a black MAC on their sample sale going on right now. haihh..

I suppose that's what's been on my wishlist since the beginning of the year.
I mean, I KNOW these are things that I don't need, so it'll stay at the back of my mind for now.. but you know how it is for me when I want something. I just can't quite forget about them.
Perhaps next year.
If I'm lucky I'll completely forget about them and replace them with something that I actually really need! heh.

Another Empties Entry.

0comments
I swear I am trying to be better at this.
I am trying to manage my time better and hopefully update this blog more than what seemingly to be once a month.
Sometimes I do wish that my thoughts would somehow just magically type itself and publish on its own on this blog. Would save me a whole lot of trouble from all the guilt by not writing anything on this blog.

So anyway, it has been six months since my last "empties" (products I've used up) blog, I thought it's a good enough time to update you on what I've finished up since then!
Mind you, I've been collecting for six months and hubs have been making funny comments about me putting aside garbage. Understandable, really. I myself got tired of looking at my pile of rubbish for the past six months.

BODY CARE.

So let's talk about the stuff that I have the most of in this picture; Bausch & Lomb Renu Fresh Multi-Purpose Solution; four bottles of the 120ml and two of the 60ml (normally what I carry in my travel toiletries bag) in the course of six months, I think that's a good number. I definitely did not use one for longer than it should be used.
Then there's also one of the ReNu MultiPlus Lubricating and Rewetting Drops. I should probably have more of that but I have multiples of it in many of my handbags that I don't go through them as fast as I probably should.

Then we have Original Source Body Butter in Vanilla & Raspberry. I've talked about this brand and this particular scent in their body wash form in my previous empties blog, so when I saw that they have it as body butter as I was randomly walking around in Boots in Bangkok months ago, I just couldn't walk away! Loved it while it lasted. Wouldn't mind having it again, but as I mentioned previously, when it comes to body products I really don't mind trying out different things.

A favourite, Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser. So perfect for days when I couldn't be bothered to smother myself with proper moisturisers but knew better than to go without it. Basically it's a lotion mist that you spray all over your body then you're all set! It's so easy to the point that Encem uses it too. We are currently going through another one of this.
Not sure if you can find it here, but I got it from Priceline in AU. I do hope we have something like this over here!

Something basic and boring, I 'd gone through another tube of Colgate Optic White. We currently have a normal toothpaste in our bathroom though. I feel like YEARS of using a whitening toothpaste is making my teeth a lil' sensitive. Just a little. And I'm not even sure if it actually works! hahaha! I mean, years of drinking coffee, tea and smoking.. I hadn't expected much to be honest.

Finally for body care products, I've finished up Bath & Body Works Shower Gel in Winter Candy Apple and the Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Golden Pineapple Luau. Winter Candy smelled nice; kinda like apple pie, smelled of apples and cinnamon. Golden Pineapple Luau smelled great. I feel like everytime I wash my hands the whole room would smell like pineapples, LOVED it!

SKIN CARE.

Feels like I'd gone through a bunch of skin care stuff in the past six months.
There was the tub of Origins Make A Difference Night, Make A Difference Plus and also the sample size that I travelled with. Loved them. I always go back and forth between the Make A Difference and GinZing range, so they are one of those things that I will repurchase.

I'd also finish up a deluxe size of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, and the Facial Radiance Pads. The cream is pretty basic, but I do love the fact that you can use it anywhere; from the face to all over the body. I didn't hate it, but I don't see myself repurchasing it when my heart is just stuck on Origins.
The pads however, I loved. This was my second tub and I just hadn't gone around to repurchasing it. I don't usually use toner for my skin but this stuff makes it so easy that I couldn't not use it.

More moisturisers -- Lush Million Dollar Moisturiser. Too heavy, doesn't really absorb into my skin. Also, I think there are teeny tiny glitters in it. I mean, my face didn't exactly look glittery but they were almost shimmery. Just not my thing.
A glow would be nice, but shimmers is a bit much.

Now we turn to cleansers, I've finish up a travel size of NARSskin Gentle Cream Cleanser. Basic. Nothing much to talk about. I never have much to talk about cleansers. Except that this one doesn't really foam. But my skin did feel clean afterwards.

After years and years of working on it, I've finally finish up the Bourjois Micellar Cleansing Water! I swear I got this YEAARRS ago when I made my very first purchase of Bourjois makeup in Hong Kong and got this for free.
Well, it worked like any other micellar water. But I don't really reach for micellar water that often which is why it took so SO long to get through.

Then there's the sole Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes. Like my contacts lense solution, pretty sure I've used up more than just one packet of it but perhaps too lazy to keep it aside.
Loved it. Will always repurchase.

HAIR CARE.

So I've finished up my second pair of OGX Biotin & Collagen shampoo and conditioner. Apparently biotin is good for your hair and this particular range smelled really nice. I got these while I was in AU (naturally) while they're on sale. Pretty sure I'd seen the brand here in Watsons though.
I'm not particular enough to notice if it made my hair stronger or anything like that but I love how the scent lingers in my hair.

Another favourite, Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum. Unfortunately our Sephora no longer carries Josie Maran and the last time I was in AU and looked for it in Mecca, they didn't have it in stock! Kinda upsetting because I would love to repurchase this. It feels a little silicone-y but it has such a lovely smell and it worked for my hair. Can't complain.
Trying to find ways to get more of it. I do have a little bit of it in a travel size but it is SO precious that I couldn't bear to use it.

Something I bought because I couldn't get a hold of the Josie Maran hair serum; Ouai Hair Oil. I don't think my hair responded as well to the hair serum. And it smelled of Jasmine flower, which I'm not crazy about. I suppose it helped a bit with my dry ends, but it's just not good enough for me to repurchase.

Lastly, I'd gone through my travel hairspray; Kao Cape 3D Extra Keep hairspray that I always stock up whenever I'm in Japan. There are a few variations of these hairsprays and I never seem to notice the difference between them, but I always have them in my work bag to tame my fly-aways as best as I can. As long as it's small, doesn't smell funky and doesn't make my hair feel crunchy, that's a good enough reason for me to keep repurchasing it.

MAKE-UP.

I'd gone through the last of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. I'd also gone through Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil in shade 3. Between the two, I MUCH prefer the Brow Wiz but it's a little harder to get a hold of. Also, I think it is slightly cheaper than Benefit's brow pencil and lasts much longer. I feel like I went through Benefit's SO quickly!
I am currently using It Cosmetics' brow pencil and I think I'll go back to Anastasia once I've run out. I really do miss it.

I'm also getting rid of a sample size of Tarte Gifted mascara. It was fine, didn't exactly wow-ed me or anything. I remember the formula being a little dry which didn't do much for my eyelashes. Perhaps I got a bad batch or something but it just didn't impress me.

RANDOM BITS.

We're near the end, guys!

I used up a pack of Sephora Soft Touch Cotton Pads that I got on a whim. I did enjoy that it has different textures on its two sides. One was soft, the other was kinda exfoliating. I used it with the micellar water but now that I've run out of that, I suppose I have no need to repurchase the cotton pads.

Something for the home, I'd gone through the Bath & Body Works Wallflower that I only kept one of. I threw most of them out consciously knowing that I was going to feature them in this blog but I pretty much use one up every month and I have them in my bedroom and living room so I don't see the point in having ten to twelve of them for this entry. (Different than my contacts solution because I never knew how much I was using them before this. hehe. Now that I do, I won't be keeping multiples of the empty bottles for my next empties blog.)
Oh, I do love the stuff. Probably not very economical but I really like getting a whiff of it everytime I enter the room.

Super random; Method Home Dish Soap in the Cucumber scent! hahahaha! Never thought I'd feature a dish soap on my blog, but I do love this stuff! Yes, pricey, but it's naturally derived and I especially love that it doesn't smell like your average dish soap. I don't know about you but my hands don't feel as dry after doing the dishes and I do appreciate that.
I'm the sort of person who used to wear gloves whenever she does a load of dishes -- true story. My hands would get so SO dry, Method dish soap is such a life saver!
Would repurchase -- have repurchased. (This is my second bottle even, currently going through my third.)

And that is it! Damn, this is a long entry.
So that's all the crap that I can happily throw away and stop Encem from giving me funny comments about me hoarding trash.
Suppose I'll do this again in six months but I have a feeling that the collection will be more or less the same. I'll try and make it short and sweet if it does.

Thank you for staying and reading this through.
Let's hope that I'll have a more exciting entry next time. (I'm hoping anyway.)

Hello, 32.

0comments
And hi, reality. hahahaha!

Well, I've always talked about my grey hair anyway and I do embrace them. Makes me a whole lot like Rogue of X-Men. Unfortunately my job does not agree with the "old and wise" look so I always have to colour them in every few months.
Not my favourite thing to do since all those hair colouring products stink.
Gets really boring when you've done them since you're 25 -- and yes, that's how young I was when I first noticed the grey hairs.

Anyway, I've been really quiet this month, haven't I? My ideas just never made it to the blog unfortunately. Like always, ideas on this and that but time always gets the better of me.

My birthday came and went and I've got nothing to report.
As always I expected more, but at the same time there really is nothing to expect. It's always like that. I keep hoping for something magical to happen, maybe. But what magic is there when it's just one more day, one more year of your life?

Yes, yes, I am blessed and grateful for another day, but really.. I just can't seem to shake off the bad funk that I always feel around this time of year. It's sad and sickening at the same time. I am constantly in this loop that I can't get out of.

So hey!
I bought some stuff to cheer me up. hahaha! Let's call this my birthday haul. Stuff that I truly bought in the excuse of my birthday.

First I made a purchase in Sephora (naturally), and I was happy to see that they carried the holiday limited edition set from Kat Von D! As you may know (if you happen to stumble upon my Instagram, I suppose) I LOVE her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick! I already have eight of them and when I saw this set online, I knew.. I MUST have it!
Perhaps I'll write a specific post on them one day. heh! Don't hold your breath though.

Then I saw a cute lil' onesie by La Senza, and though I've always been apprehensive about bodysuits before -- how does one get out of it when they need to tinkle? -- and against my better judgement, I decided to get it anyway.
Just so you know.. onesie.. bodysuits.. whatever you decide to call it -- if you ever think of getting it, I hope you have the bladders of steel! Because let me tell you, it IS a pain to get out of one everytime you need to pee! hahahaha. But you can't deny, they are stinkin' cute on.

My final purchase was a flashy one. Been wanting to get a new perfume for months now. Been wanting a Dyptique perfume since probably last year even! I guess they're probably just as expensive as Jo Malone but I somehow feel like Jo Malone is a tad more achievable. hahahaha! (They're just as expensive, really.)

I went into the store in Pavilion not really knowing what to get but the sales associates were really helpful. Having Encem there was great too because it's just easier to decide on a scent with him around. After all, he's going to be smelling it of off me so we might as well get a scent that the both of us could love.

Loving my purchases so far. Not enough to get me out of my funk, but I'm pretty happy with my buys.
Year-end is fast approaching and I do intend to have a couple more entries before we enter the new year. So let's hope that happens and not become yet another idea that didn't materialise.

Hope you're having a good December, I'll speak to you again soon.

Sephora Black Card Members Sale; October 2016

0comments
Dear God, I spent a LOT!

Doesn't look like much, but if my shopping bag were stolen yesterday, I would run after the thief! Or cry. Probably run after the thief first then cry because I am so out of shape!
To think that I had wanted some other things but they were all out of stock in store..

Now if you're not familiar with Malaysian Sephora, they normally have their member's sale every May and October with 20% discount on everything. So if you have something 'spensive you'd like to try, it's the BEST time to get it!

I got four things from the Sephora brand itself;
First, is a box of the Express Eye Makeup Remover Wipes. I've never tried this before, but I love the portability of their Instant Nail Polish Remover Wipes so I decided to chuck it in my basket.
When it comes to makeup removing wipes, I trust in the Simple brand, but the packaging is quite large and would take up some space in my toiletries bag.

So I plan on putting some sachets of these Sephora wipes in my "emergency toiletries bag". For times when Encem tells me that we're going to see his mom in Puncak Alam where the drive takes forty minutes to an hour. And we'd stay there for hours, and he'd be too tired or sleepy (from the awesome meals) to drive back home.
Which reminds me, I should put together that emergency toiletries bag soon.

I also got a loofah (or as they call it, Bath Flower! pfft), because as it turns out I like the one from Sephora! It gets the job done and has held its shape. I've had mine for months now (which is why I should replace it) and it is still well intact.

Then there's the Glass Nail File which I bought because Cristine from Simply Nailogical said that clipping your nails is bad. hahahha.

Last from the Sephora Collection is the Mini 4-step Buffer that I bought because Encem uses them. Simply. I do think of him sometimes when I shop, see! hahaha

Now on to the more fun part;
I got the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder on a whim. As mentioned in the previous post, I am not a powder-girl but this setting powder has so many good reviews and I've always wanted to try baking. I don't know.. Felt kinda bad for getting it when it wasn't on my wishlist/shopping list (as the rest of the things I purchased were) but thinking it was on sale (RM189 n.p.) and I'd never get it otherwise.. purchase -- happened.

I mean, I could bake with my Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder that Mami got me a couple of birthdays ago but you never see any of those YouTubers talk about it! huhuu.
Anyway, no excuses really. I told you I got the powder on a whim.

Another sort-of-whim, sort-of-not purchase is the Too Faced Hangover Primer. I also don't normally prime my face because I have yet to find one that I can say I love. I've tried Benefit The POREfessional, Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, Nars Pro-prime Light Optimizing Primer and I have no particular thoughts on them. They all made my makeup stay longer (I think?) but I always feel that it's a hassle to put on. Truly, just another extra step to do before I put on my makeup. And, I can always feel them on, which I don't particularly enjoy.
Apparently the Hangover Primer is suppose to hydrate the skin as well, so we'll see how I get on with it. I did try it on once I got home yesterday and it is lightweight, so that's a good sign.

I repurchased the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I do love it. My under-eyes loves it. I mean, I am quite sad that it's taken the number one spot, replacing my old time fave Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer but it's what my skin loves at the moment.

Then I (re)purchased WEN by Chaz Dean Healthy Hair Kit. I've used one up a couple of months ago and loved it. But spending RM 136 on a 480ml shampoo is.. terrible, really. (Pretty sure it didn't cost that much when I first bought it, though.)
This set is RM 198 n.p. (yikesss!!) but you get the full size cleansing conditioner, a hair masque and a treatment mist. The product is basically a lazy-girl's shampoo; a cleansing conditioner. One that mostly hydrates your hair but leaves it feeling squeaky clean.
I would normally use this when my hair feels disgusting, but I still have work the next day so it's a waste of time to do the whole hair care shebang when I know it's just going to get disgusting again. heh. It's great for days like that.

A new purchase is the Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel. Believe it or not, it has been on my wishlist ever since it first came out! But for the life of me, I cannot justify the price for a friggin' brow gel. Still had doubts about getting it. But yesterday I just took it off the shelf and chuck it into my basket.
The thing about having a wishlist, while the thing you wanted is still on that list, it just keeps on haunting you. Even when you KNOW that you're not supposed to get it. You KNOW it can't be that magical to have such steep price. Still, it haunts you.
The heart wants what it wants. hahaha

I've also repurchased a full size Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Mood Light. Now, that's a commitment. And yes, I've just bought a loose setting powder. Whatever.
Dim Light was sold out everywhere and all the other shades were too shimmery for what I intend to do with it. Plus Dim Light can sometimes make my foundation seem a bit warmer since it has a peachy-beige tone to it. I'm hoping the pinky tone of Mood Light will keep things neutral on me.

The final thing that I bought on this sale (also the one I am most excited about.. also the most 'spensive. huhuu) is the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick. It has great reviews from my favourite YouTubers so naturally, I had to try it out.
I don't know why I like to hover around Hourglass honestly. They're damn expensive!!

Anyway, I tried it yesterday and liked it so far. I mean, I can't say much when I've only used it for a couple of hours. It does have a huge selection of shades, and it is high coverage. Quite creamy, blends easily and I didn't use much at all. Really looking forward to using it again and have a true test of its staying power.
It's my first time ever owning a stick foundation by the way, so I'm excited!

So that's what I got during the Sephora Black Card Members Sale this time around. I don't think I've ever spent this much on makeup.. thanks, Hourglass!
If you're looking to get anything from Sephora, the sale is still on until tomorrow, Sunday October the 9th, in stores and online!

*Some of the products mentioned are linked to the product page on Sephora.COM as the products are only available in the physical stores.
**Not all Sephora stores are stocked equally, Hourglass products are only stocked in Starhill and KLCC, Laura Mercier is not stocked in Starhill and Pyramid.. you may want to call them up and check if the store you'd like to visit has the brand that you're looking for.
***Random story: I visited three Sephora stores yesterday, started off in Starhill, had lunch in Pavilion, walked towards KLCC then checked the one in Avenue K before I headed home on the LRT.

Empties!

0comments
Let's get this one thing straight.
Keeping aside all my empty bottles and tubes feels really unnatural. And having to put them all on the bed for this picture.. feels kinda yuck! hahahaha

But anyway, thought I'd talk about some of the things I've finish up in the past few weeks.

MAKE-UP;

I've finally finish up my NARS Sheer Glow foundation! ..and you know that I've got a new bottle of it! I love this stuff, and the only reason that I hadn't finish it sooner is because I don't travel with it. A little horrified by the thought of leaving it in some hotel, rather than the bottle breaking really.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz is the bomb when it comes to brow pencils, honestly. I am still using that one as I always buy back-ups. But as I am now using the back-up, I need to order some more because not having a spare is making me rather nervous.

Benefit They're Real mascara is one of my faves. This is my second tube of it, but I'm quite fickle when it comes to mascaras. Not too fussy about it so I am currently using one from Urban Decay (at home) and Tarte (while travelling) but I know if all fails, I can always go back to They're Real.

Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer was pretty good. It might even be better than my old fave NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I don't know, perhaps the skin under my eye has been even drier than normal and the consistency of the Urban Decay concealer is a tad lighter and feels nicer under my eye.

I've also run out of my travel size Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. It seem like I have a wee bit more on the pan but everytime I try to powder my face with it, it doesn't seem to give me anything really.
Now, I'm not really a powder-girl, but this I LOVE. It made my skin seem smooth and luminous.

HAIR CARE;

Liese Juicy Shower refill.
Okay. I've used this stuff for YEARS and I still don't know what it really does for my hair! hahaha! But I love the way it smells. And it's really handy to have while I'm doing my hair for work. Since I don't wash my hair everyday and it's easier for me to put my hair up in a bun when it's slightly damp.
This is one of those things that I'll ALWAYS repurchase but probably won't talk about again because as mentioned, I don't really know what it does apart from being a good smelling water for the hair.

Now for the first time ever, I don't have a back-up of the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. Kinda bothers me a bit. It's been a favourite for SO long, but I don't know.. I feel like branching out, trying out different things.
Suppose I'll repurchase if it's on offer or nothing else works out.

Loreal Studio Line Fix and Shine hairspray.
I used to always use this when I started flying. Bought it again because I ran out of hairspray and the brand that I was using was not available at the drug store at the time I had to repurchase.
Reminded why I hadn't use it for so long.
I hated it.
I hate how crunchy it made my hair feel.
HATE how it smells like.. hairspray. hahahha! I feel like getting sick everytime I do my hair for work.
So yeah.. I definitely won't buy this again. SO glad I manage to use it up.

BODY CARE;

Bath and Body Works Body Scrub in Wild Madagascar is yet another favourite. This was my second tube of it, and I'm going through the third. That's all I have to say about that.

Bath and Body Works Gentle Foaming Handwash in Fresh Watermelon Lemonade is the handwash that I have in my bathroom. LOVE the scent of it, and yet another product I've repurchased.

Bath and Body Works Deep Cleansing Handwash in Pink Grapefruit Pop is the handwash I had in the kitchen. Perhaps it's the word "deep cleansing" that made it fitting for the kitchen. Basically what made it "deep cleansing" is the presence of beads in the liquid soap. It's a mild scrub for the hands! I've also repurchased this handwash, but in a different scent this time. Now the kitchen area sometimes smells of pineapple!

I've almost run out of the Lush Cosmetics body wash in The Olive Branch but I decided to include the bottle in for this entry because there's probably just enough for one shower left. It is unlike any other body wash I've used. It's very thin in consistency, very liquid-y. But I like the scent, and so does Encem. I don't really know how to describe the scent, but it doesn't smell like olive oil that's for sure. It smells fresh and pleasant. hahahaha! So descriptive.

Another body wash I've used up is the Original Source in Vanilla & Raspberry. Now this, I can say, smelled divine! It's like the yummiest, sweetest cake you've ever smelled! Loved it while it lasted, but I don't think I'll repurchase anytime soon. I like changing things up when it comes to body wash. A shame really, to keep buying the same scent when there are SO many options out there.
I might try a different scent from the same brand though. I love it when things are labelled "vegan" or "natural". Hipster much? hahahaha!
I just love the idea of having less chemical in my products really. (Which is why I tend to splurge on the "good" stuff. heh)

SKINCARE;

Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm is amongst those things that I'll keep repurchasing. I can't find a bad thing to say about it. It does what it said it would without irritating my eyes or skin. Even though I am currently using Boscia's cleansing oil for when I'm home -- which is just as good, still I repurchased the cleansing balm for me to transfer into a smaller pot for when I'm travelling!

I've also used up a generous sample of Origins Mega-bright Skin Illuminating Cleanser.
It's a foamy cleanser. It washes my face squeaky clean. What else can I say? Suppose I won't repurchase because I'm really not that fussy about foaming cleansers, so I like to try out different things.

I've repurchased Lush Cosmetics Eau Roma Water because I am such a lazy person. Of all the skincare steps, I am most lazy to use a toner. So, a toner water in a spray bottle? Perfect!

PERFUME;

I am SO proud (and excited) to say that I've used up TWO perfumes; Taylor Swift Wonderstruck and Georgio Armani Si EDP. Seriously. It is SO rare for me to finish up a bottle of perfume, let alone two! I loved these two scents. Would probably buy Wonderstruck again as it was my work-scent for the longest time. Maybe not Si, because Bestie uses the same scent in Intense sometimes.
I don't know about you, but I always find it weird to smell the same as someone close to you.
Or someone random uses the same perfume as someone close to you.
Scents are just too personal for me, I guess.

Anyway, excited to get a new perfume in the future!
Not too soon though, because I still have a bunch in my collection. Well, four. Five if you count the one that I keep for sentimental value. hehehe

RANDOM BITS;

Colgate Optic White toothpaste! hahahahha. Everybody should brush their teeth and this is my toothpaste of choice. I've used up tubes of it. Still not sure if it actually whitens my teeth, but I'll keep on using this -- just in case if it does help with my coffee and cigarette stains.

Lastly, I've finished yet another Bausch & Lomb Renu Fresh Multi-purpose Solution in the 120ml. I only buy the smaller size actually. Read or heard somewhere that you're not supposed to keep an opened eye-solution for too long. Made sense to me since it sits in my bathroom anyway, and it's something that'll end up in my eye. (Should probably not leave it in the bathroom, I know..)
I used to buy the larger bottle as they are more value for money but I am the only one in this household who wears contacts, and I remember that the large bottle lasted me for close to a year!
I doubt that's a good practice.

And that is it! Thank you for staying strong and read through my crap about my trash. I know it sounds kinda stupid but I do feel a deep sense of accomplishment seeing this bundle of crap I've collected. I mean, I know I shop a LOT, but I do go through them!

So yeah.. I can finally throw out all these empty tubes and bottles!
More room for new stuff! bahahhaha!
..which I might talk about tomorrow. heehee

Quarterly Faves [Beauty]

0comments
If you hadn't known, I watch a LOT of beauty-related videos on YouTube. I don't know why, really. Something to do..? To get some inspiration..? An excuse to shop -- because somebody recommended something..?
Yes.. Yes.. YES!
Hahahahha!

Anyway, those "beauty gurus" on there always posts their "monthly favourites" and though they're one of my favourite things to watch, I honestly can't fathom how they could have different favourites each month when my favourites normally lasts all year! (And more!)

So anyway, I've had awesome discoveries this past few months and I just had to share them. An excuse to talk about something light, really!

First, the Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57 (retails at RM89). It's almost Godsend! I don't know about you lot, but I can never seem to blend my concealer seamlessly with my fingers. My fingers tend to pick up the concealer instead of distributing the product onto the intended areas. The bristles on this brush are soft and dense yet long enough to move along your skin and blend the concealer perfectly!
I just can't be without it and so I LOVE the fact that it comes with a cover so you can travel with it, no problem!

Second in the list is Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Khaki. (Retails at RM89) Oh wow.. This is the stuff that I grab when I have less than twenty minutes to get my face ready! (I keep sleeping through my alarm lately. bleh!)
Just swipe a thick line across the lash line, blend it with my finger and voila! Eyes done! And it'll stay all day long without creasing -- at all! This shade in particular is described as "chocolate brown with bronze pearl" and it does have that pearlescent finish.
I also love NARS Velvet Eyeshadow Stick in Nunavut (retailed at RM99) which is a matte dark purple shade if I wanted a darker "look" but the line is limited edition so I'm not too sure of its availability by the time this post goes up. (They were still available in late February when I went to get the matte black shade Flibuste.)
Seriously though, I think I'm addicted to these crayon eyeshadows. They are very creamy and so easy to blend out! I also love that they're twist-ups instead of pencils that you need to sharpen. Makes me really curious of By Terry's Ombre Blackstar now, to be honest! (On the wishlist!)

Bio-Oil! (Retails at RM54.95 at Watsons for the 125ml) Hahahha! It could be considered as something for beauty, right? I've been struggling to calm the rashes on my legs from extreme dryness. Tried a bunch of creams, Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Up (RM62) refused to work on me anymore, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (RM128) -- which smelled straight up like Eurax -- did nothing, even Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil  (RM184) just made my legs slick -- but still itchy!
So far, only Bio-oil has stopped my urge to scratch my legs like a mad-woman -- if I remember to apply twice a day, as suggested. Not sure if it reduces my existing scar as the rashes are pretty much raging still.
Extreme dryness.. It's a problem, folks!
Honestly, I should just go and see a dermatologist already.. but.. ick! Damn.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Exposed. (Retails at RM117) Well, I got the "tester" size sometime last year (or was it late 2013?) for RM30. Described as "nude" but it straight up looked mauvy-pink on me! Apart from being matte, I love that the shade is pretty muted so it works well with whatever colour I have on the rest of my face. Plus it lasted well more than 12 hours with very minimal fading on me.
I use it so much that I hit pan on it! That's right.. I hit pan on a blush!! Though it's a teenie baby size of a blush at 1.5g, still.. whoaa..
I must say that I am pretty excited about the idea of using something up.

This next one was a calculated splurge. A "splurge" because I don't need another perfume. "Calculated" because I've been wanting it since.. August, I would say.
It's Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum. (RM300 for 50ml, RM430 for 100ml) Smells really sweet, fruity. Reminds me of mangosteen for whatever reason although it isn't listed as one of the notes! haha!
Smells a bit heady if I sprayed on too much but then again it was my first eau de parfum that I own, oddly enough! For whatever reason, I've only been keen on eau the toilette before Si!
Anyway, I really liked the way it smell. Thought of finishing up one of my existing perfumes first before getting it but I saw it being sold cheaper while I was walking along the counters in Perth airport. So I just.. grabbed it! (#crewlife perks!)

I've also been loving NARS Velvet Lip Liner in Patong Beach. (Retails at RM85) Described as "pink rose", it is your-lips-but-better material! It may not be the best texture on my lips (as all lip liners are) but with my Nuxe Rêve de Miel underneath, the liner glides on like a dream. Actually, even without a lip balm I would still wear this because I LOVE the colour!
Also worth mentioning, the Audacious lipstick in Anna, (retails at RM95) described as "smokey rose". I'd wear this on an offday, damn it! That's how much I love it. Yet another YLBB product. I once wore it for work and the grooming people stopped me because my "lipstick seemed too pale" apparently. hahaha! Can't wrap my head around a seemingly mauvy shade to be "pale"..
Basically I'm all over these two if I feel like wearing make-up on an off day. Something that I can put on without looking "too much".

Earlier this year I decided to actually note down the nail colours that I use. Mostly because I have way too many of those.. and it should be near impossible to choose a favourite when I pretty much change the colours every single time I paint my nails. Surprisingly though, there is one colour that I've painted my nails with TWICE in the course of this three months.
It's Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Up The Ante. (AU$16.95 from Priceline) It's a bright pinky-purple shade that somehow says "happy". hahaha! I do love the formula of the nail polish and it has a wide brush -- yayy! I also love the top coat from the line. I'm keen to get more shades from the line (I can honestly say that there are three more that I'd like to get!) but as aforementioned, I have a LOT of nail polish.. So I'll be waiting for some good discounts to come along! heehee
Sorry if this range isn't in Malaysia yet.. or is it? I haven't been looking around the makeup aisle of Watsons or Guardian for fear of getting things that I don't need. heh!

A surprise favourite was the Bath & Body Works Body Scrub in Wild Madagascar Vanilla. (Retails at RM65) I'm not sure if BBW's body scrubs are created "equal" but mine actually lathers up, which makes showering a total breeze! I've used body scrubs before, Soap & Glory Flake Away (RM55..?) definitely did not lather up. I love that the one I have here has a mild scrubby texture so it does not aggravate my skin and because it lathers up, I don't need to wash myself again with a foamy soap. Oh and the smell..! I really can't say no to vanilla scents.

And my top TOP favourite; Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the shade Soft Brown. (Retails at £12.21) I feel bad for neglecting my Tarte Brow Mousse but damn this Brow Wiz is SO easy to use! A twist-up pencil on one end, a spoolie on the other. The point is very fine so you can't possibly over-draw, unless maybe you do your makeup in a badly lit room!
Sure, £12 (roughly RM70) for an eyebrow pencil is a lot, but I've had mine since November and I still have a good amount of it. And I rarely EVER leave home without my eyebrows on!
I got mine from BeautyBay.com -- they ship internationally and offers free shipping with purchase over US$15. (Takes about 2 weeks for the shipment to arrive.) The Brow Wiz is US$18--something, but you'll be charged in GBP on your bank statement.

Quite a long entry, this one. Hope you don't mind this sort of entries every once in a while. Perhaps it'll inspire you to try out something new from Sephora. They should be having their 20% off sometime in April/May! Gotta keep a lookout on that! (Make a wishlist/shopping list -- I am!)

*Prices stated are from Sephora, unless mentioned otherwise.
**An exception for NARS' products as they are only available from their stores in Pavilion, KL and Parkson Gurney Plaza, Penang.

Bath & Body Works

0comments
How did I manage to forget blogging about one of the most exciting store-opening in the country!

Bath & Body Works is now in Malaysia, folks! It used to be one of the stores that I would buy online from -- and the online store doesn't even ship here! Or even accept Malaysian credit cards!
Seriously, I went through all kinds of trouble just so I could get my fix!

Note: I also used to order from Victoria's Secret but now that they're here, I've lost interest in them somehow -- even though I was mostly ordering their clothing items and we don't get them here!

Anyway, back to BBW.. Their first store was opened in Gurney Paragon, Penang of all places but the one in Nu Sentral opened not long after that! Few weeks ago it opened a store in The Curve. (And they're now open at Komtar, JB too!)

I would say that the prices are reasonable. Our currency pretty suck against the US Dollar so two of their 3-wick candle for RM120 isn't too bad.
They are normally USD22.50 (RM 81.40 according to XE) so that's quite an offer! Of course, at the time I am typing this out, BathAndBodyWorks.com is having a two for $24 offer on their candles -- and I don't think we'll ever get such offers in our shores.

My first puchases (at both the Nu Sentral and The Curve stores) were the Concentrated Room Spray (RM 25), the Wallflowers (RM 30 for the plug and RM 25 for the refills) and the Wild Madagascar Vanilla bodyscrub (RM 65).

Priced at US$ 5.50, getting the 1.5oz room sprays at RM 25 is really not bad at all. I got the Paris Amour scent (I think!) first and because I loved how potent it was, I got the Fresh Linen on my second visit

Love the scent! I carry this in my trolley bag to all my layovers. Since I am a smoker, I would spritz this once right after I had a stick and the room would smell like I had just done laundry! Hahahaha

The wallflowers lasted about a month if you just leave it on. Not too sure if I prefer this to candles. The scent doesn't travel well in my household but it is safer.

The bodyscrubs were not made equal. While mine lathers up, and I could skip washing myself with a foamy bodywash, Bestie said that the one he got (a different scent) did not create any foam. Also, I noticed that the aromatherapy line was RM10 cheaper. (But I didn't check if they were the same size.)

I didn't purchase any candles since I still have a few still unused from my previous online purchase! heh
Also, I would like to point out that I honestly prefer Yankee Candle (which you can now find at Great Eastern Mall -- where? and Sunway Pyramid!) but they are pricier..

If you're hitting up BBW and don't know what to get, I'd suggest their Scentportables! Okay, they are pricey for car air-freshener but Bestie got them and his car smells lovely!
Also the room spray, of course!

One thing though, the sales person would stick on a little sticker on the items you intend to buy for whatever reason. Commission? I just find that especially odd.

Anyway, I'm still stoked that we have Bath & Body Works here!
